- Daphne Base Camp -
In September 2004, shortly after Hurricane Ivan scored a direct hit on the Alabama and Florida coast I joined a recovery team headed by FEMA that operated a base camp in Daphne, Alabama in Baldwin County, that supported the debris removal crews and crews running distribution centers giving out essential supplies to the people stricken by Hurricane Ivan.

I was helping to run a supply cache that was giving essential supplies to the federal workers organizing the operation.

The slides in this series show our operations in Baldwin County, near Mobile, Alabama where we stayed .

Here's our supply setup. Our little shop at the Daphne Public Works Department warehouse. We had lots of water over to the left which was being held in reserve for who knows what down the road.
