Why Julie Anderson?
I have 24 years of experience in therapeutic massage (10 of those within Chiropractic offices), two college degrees, several certifications, and many years as an ACE-certified personal fitness trainer. I am a certified aromatherapist and have been training in Thai and Breema bodywork for the past 6 years. I have been offering this (fully clothed, padded floor) work since 2007 . All of these things enable me to take a more holistic approach to the needs of my clients.
Decades ago, I served on the initial team of skills examiners for the state of Texas, conducting licesure testing. I have taught infant massage and adult essential oil workshops, conducted physical fitness seminars, and taught cardio and other classes for students reviewing for ACE personal training examinations. I have worked on wide varieties of body types, from babies to body builders, teen-aged athletes to adults with disabilities.
Yes, I have vast education and experience, but most importantly, I have a love for this work and a dedication to the well-being of my clients. Health care is my passion !
On a more personal note.....
I am happily married and the proud mother of three boys; my adorable, identical 13-year-old twins and a 18-year-old, winner of the Oregon State Men's Gymnastics Championship Class V Title in 2004. He has since traded competative gymnastics for coaching younger gymnasts. A missions trip to Nicaragua a few years back gave him a fresh perspective on life; something we could all use. :)
My favorite sport is racquetball, but I also enjoy mountain biking and hiking! My hobbies include reading, anything to do with better health, making and enjoying music, aromatherapy and gardening.
I love living in central Oregon, with the beautiful sunshine and mountains. I always told my parents that I was "born in the wrong state" (Illinois). Chicago was too cold, then Texas too hot, (although that was a great state to earn my second college degree in Kinesiology and I met my husband at Austin's Gold's Gym there).
My goal is to create a mini retreat for my special clients with a relaxing atmoshphere for a therapeutic session at my new office at 4th & Greenwood in Redmond. I can't fit a hot tub in this cozy space, but I do have a "magic carpet" (infra-red, negative ion mat) and I can make you a cup of tea anytime!
Most of all I thank God for all of my wonderful blessings, including the gift of massage as my service to others.
