I went on vacation to Honduras for two weeks and it was really fun! Once I got over the fact that my flight was canceled and that I could not get another flight for two days and that I could not fly into my original destination city I made new plans for the trip. My new destinantion for the start was San Pedro Sula, a city on the western border near Guatemala. But sinse it was sorta near the Mayan ruins at Copan I decided to go there for a few days to check it out. After that I got on the bus and headed toward the island of Roatan which is in the Bay Islands off the northern coast of Honduras in the Caribean Sea. I spent a few days on the island by myself and then I joined my guided sea kayak tour for a 7 day adventure on the east side of the island based out of a small coastal town called Oak Ridge.
Fun stuff! It was a great vacation and I saw a lot of interesting things.
