Not too long ago, in 1996, Uriah Smithee decided one day that he tired of the sentimental hogwash (his words) that was being distributed throughout holiday and gift stores throughout this great land of ours. He set out with one idea: to create a line of greeting cards that was simple, honest, and straightforward; cards that would be more in tune with people's real feelings. Because we are a small business built on the prospect of honesty and old-fashioned decent labor, our goal as a company, even in today's hectic market, is to deliver exactly what our customer's need and want, while and this is Uriah's golden promise keeping true to the original craftsmanship and dedication of the company's history. Each card ordered whether part of our selection of customer favorites or individualized messages specifically requested by YOU is carefully detailed and designed... a unique creation for the occasion. Our prices are higher than average cards because we don't deliver a note that's been read by three hundred thousand other people in the United States... the recipient of your card gets something no one else or at least very few others has seen.
OUR PRODUCT:
Since the company's inception, our most popular attraction is the Custom Card ©. Simply write us a short message (you'll see the form box on the order form under this selection) describing the situation unique to you and your recipient, the types of things you'd like your card to say, and then Smithee's Greeting Cards © will do the rest. For a fraction of a cost more, we'll even accept your own artwork. You can scan it and send it to us with your order or use the Regular Ol' Mail... a time-honored Uriah Smithee favorite!
We'd like you to know that this recent expansion to the World Wide Web has not compromised our company's values in any way. Uriah Smithee has personally overseen the hiring of more Cardsmiths that fit the profile of those original five artists who started making cards outside of Madison, Wisconsin! We CAN handle more orders, and we WILL make every card as special as if we were still doing them inside Uriah's kitchen.
