Trails and Camps in The Ochoco National Forest

ALLEN CREEK HORSE CAMP
Big Summit Ranger District, 541-447-9645.
Directions:From Prineville go east on State Hwy 26 approximately 16 miles; turn right on FS Road 22 and go 36 miles. (18 miles past Walton Lake). Camp is on the southeast corner of Big Prairie.
Facilities: 6 camp sites, tables, fire pits 2 toilets, 24 single horse stalls with water for horses at creek. Map

CYRUS HORSE CAMP
Crooked River National Grassland, 541-447-9640.
Camp is located at upper Cyrus Spring off State Hwy 26 between Madras and Prineville.
Directions: Follow State Hwy 26 for 12 miles south of Madras (or 15 miles north of Prineville) to FS Road 96, Haystack Reservoir junction. Proceed 2.3 miles then turn left on Forest Road No. 5750; go approximately .5 mile then turn right onto Forest Road No. 5760 and travel approximately .5 miles to camp.
Facilities: 4 sites with picnic tables and fire rings. Three 4-horse corrals, one 3-horse corral. One toilet, stock water, no potable drinking water.

DRY CREEK HORSE CAMP
Prineville Ranger Station, 541-447-9641.
Directions: From Prineville take State Hwy 26 east for approximately 8 miles. Turn left on FS Road 33. Drive approximately 5 miles and turn left on FS Road 3370. Follow about 2 miles to FS Road 3370-200.
Facilities: Toilets, 18 single horse stalls, fire rings, spring water. Map
