This
is where it all started on day one! I brushed on airplane paint stripper. It started
bubbling right away!
The
pressure washer really helped to rinse the stripper and paint off of the trailer.
Only
2 hours into the project, and I'm feeling great! This is too easy. I'll have a polished
aluminum trailer by the weekend! |

Wait
a minute! This is all the further I can get with the stripper! The next 3 days don't get
any better!
Yes, we gave up on a
polished aluminum finish. Now it's into the shop for plan B.
I used a urethane alkyd gloss oil base enamel by
Benjamin Moore. This turned out to be an excellent product!

This
paint really covered nicely, and left a smooth finish. |
Now
comes the masking for the stripes. We wanted to match the original design.
The
first coat of blue is complete. We can't wait to finish painting, and pull the masking! |

Painting is done,
and the masking is off! What a thrill to see our new baby!

The
interior after we made new curtains. |

The
inside is in good condition, However, There is some water damage.
We have reupolstered all of the
cushions now. You'll have to wait for more pictures after our vacation. Every thing has
worked very well up to this point. I converted all of the lighting to 12 volt. The water
tank uses air pressure to feed the sink. It works very well. Please e-mail us with any
questions you might have. We'd love to be a part of your restoration! |
