Oregon Links Government Offices: The governor's web pages on the state's web site provide information on issues related to his office and his position on issues. There is also contact information including a form for sending e-mail to the governor. The official web portal for the State of Oregon provides access to all official web sites for government agencies and departments. For direct access to senators, representatives and related issues you can go directly to the Senate's web pages and the web pages for the House of Representatives The web site for the Oregon Secretary of State has information about wide variety of issues, including matters of interest to voters. The Oregon Votes 2002 web site is published by the secretary of state's office and deals with voter issues. Political and related web sites: Democracy's Edge is a private, non-profit Oregon foundation seeking to inspire Oregonians and other Americans to become--and continue to be--active participants in our government. The Oregon United web site is supported and maintained by citizen volunteers seeking to preserve the qualities that make Oregon special through voter participated. Children First for Oregon is an advocacy organization for children in Oregon "sounding a positive voice for change through research, public education and policy initiatives." The League of Women Voters of Oregon supports non-partisan activities and is a very good source of voter information. See also the Deschutes County unit's web pages and the national link. The Oregon State Public Interest Research Group is a non-profit organization with a strong interest in environmental, health care, energy, consumer protection and wilderness issues. The site maintains a congressional scorecard to let visitors know how members of Oregon's delegation to Washington vote on issues of concern to OSPIRG. Oregon. We are helping Oregonians get the facts they need to make the best
decisions. You can be part of it. This is a great resource with links to
other web sites interested in public affairs in Oregon. Fund Oregon’s Future Today (FOFT) is a broad-based coalition dedicated to finding solutions to the funding crisis that is threatening both the short-term and long-term solvency of Oregon’s essential public programs. We are parents, health care providers, teachers, advocates, and working families who have come together to urge our Legislators and Governor to do better. This site has a long list of links to coalition members and related sites in Oregon. OregonWatchdog.com is maintained by the Taxpayer Association of Oregon. Many independents will disagree with much of the content, but it is worth noting the association's points of view. The Rural Organizing Project supports the growing grassroots movement for social justice in small-town and rural Oregon by assisting locally-organized human dignity groups. The ROP provides human dignity groups with many forms of support including skills training, strategic planning, outreach development, and opportunities to plug into statewide grassroots organizing. ROP works with members and member groups in every county in the state. World Affairs Council of Oregon hosts distinguished speakers on topics of international interest. His web site keeps Oregonians informed on issues in which Senator Wyden is involved and has other related material. He has a standard form on his web site for sending e-mail. Senator Gordon Smith's web site also provides information about issues in which he is involved as well as other material of interest to constituents. He also has a standard e-mail form on his web site. The US Senate and the US House of Representatives web sites are excellent sources of information about legislation in Congress and activities of senators and representatives.
