These web sites and blogs provide excellent reports on events in Iraq:

Robert Fisk is a featured columnist for The Independent (UK) and is one of the world's most respected journalists.  His work focuses mainly on the Middle East.

Informed Comment by Juan Cole:  Juan Cole is Professor of History at the University of Michigan.  His views on the Middle East are highly respected.

The Asia Times is an excellent on-line site for some of the most authoritative and informed commentaries and opinion related to the countries that comprise the continent and the Middle East.  Use the search function for articles on Iran

Z Magazine has archives of articles on countries, including Iraq, and regions around the world on its web site.  These articles are written by recognized authorities and form an excellent resource for research.

Amnesty International "is a worldwide movement of people who campaign for internationally recognized human rights.

"AI’s vision is of a world in which every person enjoys all of the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights standards."

Human Rights Watch is dedicated to protecting the human rights of people around the world.

CBS News recently carried a shocking report questioning the Saudi system of justice involving the imprisonment and torture of seven westerners for a series of car bombings they didn't commit.

The great hypocrisy of the Bush administration's claim that the war on Iraq was justified because of Saddam Hussein's torture and abuse of prisoners is made obvious by the equally inhumane treatment by our "friends" in Saudi Arabia.
