These web sites and blogs provide excellent reports on events in Iraq: Robert Fisk is a featured columnist for The Independent (UK) and is one of the world's most respected journalists. His work focuses mainly on the Middle East. The Independent requires a subscription to read Fisk's articles but they are often available at www.counterpunch.org, http://www.truthout.org/index.htm and http://www.zmag.org/weluser.htm. Cambridge Solidarity with Iraq (CASI) provides information about the humanitarian situation in Iraq and its context. It aims to raise awareness of the effecs on Iraq of the sanctions which were in place until May 2003, and previously campaigned on humanitarian grounds for the lifting of non-military sanctions. CASI does not support or have ties to the government of Iraq. The Crimes of War Project "is a collaboration of journalists, lawyers and scholars dedicated to raising public awareness of the laws of war and their application to situations of conflict. Our goal is to promote understanding of international humanitarian law among journalists, policymakers, and the general public, in the belief that a wider knowledge of the legal framework governing armed conflict will lead to greater pressure to prevent breaches of the law, and to punish those who commit them." Dahr Jamail's Iraq Dispatches is a web log with reports from Iraq. The Education for Peace in Iraq Center is a leading on-line source of information and opinion opposed to the war on Iraq. Electronic Iraq is a news portal on the US-Iraq crisis published by respected Middle East alternative news publishers, The Electronic Intifada (EI) and incorporating on the ground reports from veteran antiwar campaigners Voices in the Wilderness. In June 2003, eIraq was awarded ADC's "Voices of Peace" Award. eIraq and EI together receive between 300,000 and 1 million unique visitors each month. The Four Reasons web site has a large collection of articles dealing with international law, especially war-related issues and the war on Iraq, and constitutional issues. This site also has links to several media web sites. Healing Iraq is a blog providing daily news and comments on the situation in post Saddam Iraq by an Iraqi dentist Informed Comment by Juan Cole: Juan Cole is Professor of History at the University of Michigan. His views on Iraq and other parts of the Middle East are highly respected. Iraq on the Record is a 36-page .pdf file of a report requested by Henry Waxman (D-California) that is published on Waxman's congressional web site.

Iraqi Revenue Watch is a new initiative launched by Open Society Institute Chairman George Soros to ensure that Iraqi oil revenues are managed in a transparent manner. The institute and the Soros Foundation Network have several initiatives in progress that address many civil and human rights around the world. The Project for American Progress has a counter calculating the financial costs for the war on Iraq and an archive of articles related to Iraq and other issues. Cost of War in Iraq also has a counter calculating monetary costs for the war in Iraq. Since its founding in 1996, Voices in the Wilderness has campaigned to end economic and military warfare against the Iraqi people. We have done this by organizing over seventy delegations to Iraq in deliberate violation of UN economic sanctions and US law. We have lived alongside ordinary Iraqis before and during the US invasion and throughout the current US occupation of Iraq. In defiance of the sanctions, we publicly delivered modest amounts of medical supplies to children and families in need; our primary focus has always been ordinary Iraqi civilians and the most vulnerable of Iraqi society, especially children. The Asia Times is an excellent on-line site for some of the most authoritative and informed commentaries and opinion related to the countries that comprise the continent and the Middle East. Use the search function for articles on Iran Z Magazine has archives of articles on countries, including Iraq, and regions around the world on its web site.
