This section of the web site will address a variety of topics related to education and schools. Visit the web site for the Institute for America's Future: "Over 100 Prominent Americans — citizen activists and policy experts concerned about our country and our planet — joined together to launch and build the Campaign for America's Future. We are challenging the big money corporate agenda by encouraging Americans to speak up — to discuss and debate a new vision of an economy and a future that works for all of us." The Media Education Foundation "produces and distributes video documentaries to encourage critical thinking and debate about the relationship between media ownership, commercial media content, and the democratic demand for free flows of information, diverse representations of ideas and people, and informed citizen participation." This site also offers excellent videos (VHS and DVD) related to contemporary issues. "The Media Education
Foundation has been carrying out vitally important work on major issues of
the day, in a highly meritorious effort to raise public awareness and
understanding, work that is particularly crucial in advance of the coming
election, which may well cast a long shadow over the country's
future." See the section on School Funding Recommended reading: Education for Annihilation and Education for the 21st Century by William H. Boyer, Professor Emeritus in philosophy at the University of Hawaii and Central Oregon resident.
