Annexation

Annexation can be a divisive issue in cities as the 1998 annexation of properties into Bend proved.  While annexation can have benefits, we must guard against its potential problems and frequent injustices inflicted on property owners that are annexed in what amounts to a hostile takeover.

We will focus on annexation issues in general and plans for annexation in Bend and Redmond specifically.

See Argument Against Measure 9-29 (Redmond) - Redmond's measure to annex properties into the city limits.  This argument has been submitted to the County Clerk for inclusion in the voters' pamphlet.  Other articles are available on the Friends of Deschutes County web site.  Click on "Redmond Annexation."
